Like what scales do you need for jazz improv on guitar.
To sound like, for example, Wes Montgomery on the song Jingles.

if you are familiar with the power of the I IV V progression in rock and blues music then you can start studying the almighty ii V I which is the jazz equivalent. Start studying ‘jazzy’ chords like 7th 9th and 11th chords. also unlike rock and blues, scales arent as important to a jazz player. the rule of thumb is the less notes in a chord the easier to solo over. exactly why a pentatonic scale (5 notes) sounds great over a 5th chord (2 notes) also a 5th chord (power chord) lacks a 3rd which determines wether its major or minor so in theory a major or minor or pentatonic or basically any scale will work. jazz chords are FULL of notes so a soloist uses more of a chord based solo approach think arpeggios. this is also common in bluegrass which is why jazz and bluegrass doesnt sound like rock and blues. find as many books on the subject and learn some jazz progressions. Take lessons if you can afford it.
