i.e. the opposite to people who have very deep set eyes, when they pop out is it because they are less deep set or the eyeballs are slightly bigger?

This can be caused by Graves disease- or hyperthyroidism.

I wouldn’t think so. Kinda of like just cause someone has a bigger nose than others doesn’t mean he’s deformed. Really it’s interesting because in a way theres no real way to tell whos deformed. Deformed is just looking different from whats considered normal. No, half an arm is deformed, or an eye thats really high compared to the other one. Or a screwed up looking face. Or being born with one leg thats small and twisted up and a nother thats lanky looking. Ew…. I’m sorry. :’(

It’s called exophthalmos and it is a symptom of Grave’s Disease, which is caused by overactivity of the thyroid.

  4. Princess Says:

there is a thyroid disorder that caused people to be shall we say bug eyed

  5. mamadine Says:

buldging eyes is a classic sign of hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) which is treatable with medication or by surgery on the thyroid gland. not a deformity in this case

Sometimes, bulging eyes may mean you have a thyroid deficiency.
A simple test will rule that out.

  12. jennhko Says:

I don’t think it’s a deformity. Some people who have thyroid conditions have this feature.

  13. shruthi jain Says:

It is not a case of deformity. Its a case of hyperthyroidism and the condition may be called as exophthalmos (bulging or poping out of eye ball from the orbit). Its a endocrine disorder.
