When lightning hits near your home and your power goes out for a moment, what would cause one circuit breaker to pop?

It wasn’t the lightning that caused the circuit breaker to trip.
When the power went out briefly, everything connected to that circuit was still turned on. When the power came back on, everything started at the same time and it was this sudden inrush current that tripped the breaker.
It happens especially if the circuit had electric motors connected to it (eg pool pump etc) as motors generally draw about 7 times full load current when starting.

Perhaps. I would call an electrician to check it out.
