I am doing a project for a charity and will be covering a popular song that was recorded in the early 70′s. I would like the song to be available for download/purchase online. All profit from the song will be donated to this particular charity. What is the process that I would have to go through to gain certain rights to cover this song? What about downloads? All help would be appreciated it!

    Check the back of the album etc to try to get in contact with the band or the bands manager etc.
